Dancers on MODA

Dancers and Ducatis? Why should they not go together? I had the incredible opportunity to photograph a Dance Truck Event this past week at the Museum of Design Atlanta. The night included performances by Catellier Dance Projects, Gathering Wild and Allison Rentz. The entire time I was shooting I just kept thinking to my self, this is the most unique experience I have ever had in Atlanta. I have seen and been apart many on site, space specific dance and art shows in cities like New York and Sydney, but none here. The dancers enveloped the space in front of MODA like it was a natural every day occurrence drawing a crowd that seemed to drift in and out of awe and curiosity. The performances very post modern feel still leaves me feeling very nostalgic for days that I only ever read about in the texts books of my dance history classes. It was a time where lines where blurred an crossed and people where challenged to think out side their box. Art is very much alive here in Atlanta and it is in part thanks to the unique and wonderful artists mentioned above.
